If you are sending important mail, such as cancellations, reminders and contracts, opt for the security of our registered mail service. Registered mail receives extra attention: your items will be dealt with in a special secure postal process and will be delivered in person the following working day.
Legal security
Sending registered mail ensures legal security. Your proof of posting receipt counts as legal proof that the item was sent. And for extra security, you can request an Advice of Receipt. You will then receive a receipt signed by the recipient.
Addressee not at home?
If the recipient is not at home, he or she can collect the registered item in person from the nearest post office, Business Point or service point.
Track & Trace
Track & Trace allows you to follow your registered mail on the Internet. In this way, you always know exactly where your item is and when it has been delivered.
How does registered mail work?
Registered stickers
You can prepare registered mail for delivery yourself, by ordering registered mail stickers, which come in a variety of quantities. You frank the item with stamps, EasyStamp or a franking machine, and tender it to the post office or one of the Business Points or business counters.
Insured against damage and loss
Registered mail is insured against damage and loss. In such a case, you will receive compensation to a maximum amount of € 46. You can also take out supplementary insurance for valuable items:
Extra cover: if you have something valuable to send that is replaceable, opt for extra cover. Compensation amounts to a maximum of € 500.
Insured conveyance: for things that are not easily replaceable (e.g. a photo album), opt for insured conveyance. any material damage is then insured for a maximum of € 5,400.
Maximum weights:
- Registered: 10 kg
- Insured conveyance: 10 kg
- Extra cover: 30 kg

Advice of Receipt
What is it?
As soon as your parcel or letter has arrived, you will receive an advice of receipt signed by the recipient. You can purchase this service for € 1.15.
How does it work?
In order to receive an advice of receipt, you can use the registered mail dispatch label with the P2226 Advice of Receipt form.
