Universal Service Obligation
In the Netherlands we deliver mail for many business customers. We are also responsible for the Universal Service Obligation (USO). This means we collect and deliver all private mail five days a week. We are also obliged to actually deliver 95 percent of this mail the next day – in 2016 we scored 96.4 percent. We’re also responsible for letterboxes and post offices throughout the country. We are proud to be able to perform this postal service for the Netherlands.
This is what we can do for you
We offer many products and services for both business customers and consumers. For example, we offer a complete direct marketing services, including creative design and database analysis. We use every opportunity technology has to offer, enabling us to introduce new new, innovative solutions. Like the MyMail app, which allows you to preview mail items before they are delivered, and full Track & Trace for letterbox packages. In 2016, we also launched a new parcel and letter machine, which customers can use 24/7.
We are always looking for new ways of using our network and our people, and by doing so, exceed customers’ expectations. In 2017, we expect to roll out Track & Trace for letters, which means customers can track their mail items up to the actual delivery. With our deliverers, we are present in every street in the Netherlands, every day. That is why we keep expanding our portfolio on Smart City solutions, combining business opportunities to our corporate responsibility. For instance, we take part in a project signaling social isolated elderly people in Rotterdam, and reporting weeds and trash on the streets in the Municipality of Almelo, contributing to a more liveable society.
