Timely delivery of your parcels is a key quality indicator for our services, both to you and – especially – to your customers. We make a point of closely monitoring how long it takes for your parcels to arrive and prepare weekly, complimentary overviews on behalf of our business customers.

If you are interested in receiving weekly reports, please request the document titled 'Delivery Time Report' from your account manager. This service is free of charge.

How does it work?

The Delivery Time Report provides you with a comprehensive overview of the parcels processed by PostNL, broken down by delivery time. PostNL uses scans in determining delivery time: 

  • The initial scan of the parcel, known as the ‘Proof of Acceptance’ scan, constitutes proof that PostNL has accepted the parcel for dispatch.
    Please note: We do not use advance notification to PostNL in this case (i.e. Advance Shipping Notice). This is because, although the parcel may have been registered, it has not yet been delivered to the PostNL network. 
  • The delivery time ends when the parcel is delivered to the recipient (initial delivery attempt).

Tracking the shipment status

You can view your parcel’s shipment status in Track & Trace 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can search by destination, postcode, shipping status and other categories. Your customer can also track their parcel using MijnPakket or the multilingual website
