Doutzen feels very honoured to have her own stamp sheetlet featuring ten different black and white photographs of her. “I usually see my photos in magazines and on posters. Photos in postage stamp format have different requirements in order to come across powerfully. Anton Corbijn succeeded in this perfectly, and as a result, the photos on the stamps are atmospheric and full of emotion. It was an honour to work with him.”
Back to the essence
The ten photos by Anton show different cropped images of Doutzen: close-ups, half and three-quarter images, to a full image on one of the ten stamps. Corbijn wanted the Dutch fashion figurehead to be able to be truly herself in these photos. For this reason, Doutzen, Anton and graphic designer Julius Vermeulen went to work together in the studio. The result is a stamp sheetlet on which Anton believes that Doutzen is photographed as naturally and purely as possible. “Back to the essence,” as he says.
Furthermore, the design uses blue circles in a playful manner to make reference to the different variations on the fashion theme.
The ten ‘doutzen, mode & muse’ stamps are marked ‘Nederland 1’, the denomination for items up to 20g in weight destined for mail within the Netherlands. These stamps will be available to purchase at all Bruna shops and via postnl.nl/doutzen from 12 September. The stamps are valid until further notice.
