Oranje action week is under way: PostNL employees deliver some special moments
Connecting people
Each group involved in the PostNL trainee programme will be tasked with the mission of leaving their 'footprint' behind. In doing so our trainees will put into practice what they have learned during the career development programme. "Our company is rooted in society. Every day we connect people, by, for example, delivering post and parcels", explains trainee Matthijs Pluimers. Pluimers is organising the 'oranje' action week together with 12 other management trainees. "At the same time we also see people at risk of losing contact with society. We are delighted to offer them some support. By delivering some special moments to these people we hope to leave behind a lasting impression."
A day packed full of sport, games and culture
Hundreds of PostNL employees have registered to devote time this week to around 20 charities. The letter sorting centre in Zwolle is collecting rice for the food bank. And employees in both the Netherlands and Belgium are writing cards for Amnesty International. In Zwaag colleagues are rolling up their sleeves to repair bicycles for the neighbourhood. And in Katwijk a group of PostNL employees is organising a day packed full of sport, games and culture for children living in an asylum seekers centre. Pluimers: "The programme includes Afghan kite flying. As well as typical Dutch games like 'spijkerpoepen' and 'koekhappen'.
