Measured in terms of online orders, Fashion is the biggest segment of the Dutch online retail market. Research conducted by PostNL shows that 14.8 million Fashion purchases were made by online shoppers in 2011. Almost a quarter of online Fashion purchases result in return flows because the fashion items don’t fit or the colour is different than expected. Zalando offers its customers free shipment and return of their ordered fashion items as an integral element of its online proposition.
