Quite a few lighthouses can be admired along the Dutch coastline. The oldest, the Brandaris on Terschelling, dates back to 1594 and will also be honoured with its own stamp sheet. The Westertoren, the lighthouse that adorned the 250 guilder bank note for many years, will also be featured on a stamp. In other words, this stamp series will be paying tribute to a number of icons along the Dutch coastline.
The Dutch Lighthouses stamp series consists of 25 stamp sheet sheets. The first stamps will feature the 'Paard van Marken'. This stamp sheet and free protective cover will be available (while supplies last) at PostNL post offices, Bruna and via www.collectclub.nl. The stamps are valid until further notice. The complete series of 25 Dutch lighthouses is only available through a subscription and is offered in a limited edition of 5,000 pieces.
