As from 1 January 2015, the following rates will apply for letters in the Netherlands and internationally:
- basic rate for letters in the Netherlands: € 0.69
- basic rate for international letters: € 1.15
- basic rate franking machines for letters in the Netherlands: € 0.61
The business rates will also increase. The basic rate for sending a parcel will not change. The tariff for the December stamp will be, this year, € 0.59.
The volume decline continues as a result of the increasing use of e-mail, social media and other electronic means of communication. To safeguard reliable postal services also in the future, action is required, such as cost savings and reorganisations by PostNL, but also tariff increases.
As ACM has not yet determined the final tariff headroom for 2015, currently a statutory temporary regulation applies. ACM expects to determine the final tariff headroom in November 2014.
