Standard & Poor’s upgrades credit rating PostNL to BBB+ with stable outlook; Moody’s upgrades to Baa2

The Hague, 22 June 2016 - Both Standard & Poor’s (S&P) and Moody’s have upgraded PostNL’s credit rating by one notch, based on improvement of the financial position. They took into account the sale of the stake in TNT Express to FedEx on 25 May 2016 following the public offer from FedEx on TNT Express, resulting in cash proceeds of €643 million. Current credit ratings of PostNL are: 

  • S&P’s: BBB+ with stable outlook (from BBB with positive outlook) 
  • Moody’s: Baa2 with stable outlook (from Baa3 with positive outlook) 
According to our dividend policy, conditions for paying out a dividend are positive consolidated equity and certainty of a BBB+/Baa1 credit rating.
