PostNL nominates Martin Plavec as member of the Supervisory Board

The Hague, 27 February 2023 – The Supervisory Board of PostNL nominates Martin Plavec as member of the Supervisory Board for a period of four years. The proposal to appoint him has been made in consultation with VESA Equity Investment. The nomination will be scheduled for approval by the shareholders of PostNL at the annual general meeting of shareholders to be held in April 2023. The reappointment of Marike van Lier Lels as member of the Supervisory Board for a second term of four years will also be on the agenda for this meeting.

Jan Nooitgedagt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board: “We are pleased with the proposed appointment of Martin Plavec to the Supervisory Board, that was made in consultation with VESA Equity Investment. We aim for a balanced composition of the Supervisory Board. The addition of Martin is justified by the size of their stake in PostNL, and confirms their long-term commitment to PostNL. It also confirms the support of VESA Equity Investment in the strategy and management of PostNL, as can be read in the message they published today. The appointment of Martin Plavec is considered a valuable addition to the already existing knowledge of the Supervisory Board in the field of e-commerce and last-mile delivery.”

About the intention to appoint Marike van Lier Lels for a second term, Jan Nooitgedagt says: “We greatly value Marike’s contribution over the last four years. The Supervisory Board looks forward to benefit from her knowledge, experience and expertise going forward.”

Martin Plavec (a Czech national) currently is member of the Executive Board of the DODO Group in the Czech Republic, and Investment Manager at VESA Equity Investment. He will be considered a non-independent member of the Supervisory Board of PostNL.
