PostNL and trade unions reach agreement in principle on collective labour agreement for mail deliverers

The Hague, 3 March 2020 - PostNL and the trade unions Bond van Post Personeel (BVPP), CNV Publieke Diensten and FNV have reached an agreement in principle on a new collective labour agreement for mail deliverers. The first two unions mentioned will positively present the agreement to their members, whereas FNV will submit the agreement neutrally to their members. This CLA applies to approximately 20,000 PostNL deliverers.

Duration and salary increase

The new collective labor agreement will apply retroactively from 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2021. During this period, the salaries of mail deliverers will be increased in 6 steps by a total of 6.5 percent.

Combination of postal networks PostNL and Sandd

Since 1 February 2020, approximately 4,000 Sandd mail deliverers are employed by PostNL. As a result, PostNL employs around 20,000 mail deliverers in total and the new collective labour agreement applies to all of them. The combination added approximately 30% extra mail volume to the PostNL mail network.

Consultations

In the next few weeks, the trade unions will submit the agreement to their members. The outcome of the member consultations is expected by 20 March 2020.
