We are discontinuing support for sFTP connections and fully migrating to modern, more efficient API integrations. This migration is essential because APIs are faster, more secure, and easier to manage than sFTP. By leveraging the new PostNL APIs effectively, you can enhance recipient satisfaction.

What does the phasing out of SFTP mean?

Phasing out SFTP means you will switch to APIs that enable real-time data exchange. This replaces the slow and error-prone process of exchanging files via SFTP. The new APIs provide immediate status updates on shipments, allowing you to make faster decisions and streamline your processes.

What are the benefits?

    APIs offer real-time data exchange, enabling faster responses and reducing wait times. Unlike sFTP, which processes data in batches via a server, APIs provide direct access to up-to-date information.

Who is affected by the phasing out of SFTP?

This change applies to all PostNL business customers, including those already using direct integrations and customers exchanging data via third-party services. Customers still relying on SFTP connections will need to migrate to the new APIs.

When will sFTP be phased out?

Once the new API versions are ready, we’ll gradually phase out the SFTP connections. You’ll have plenty of time to make the switch. We’ll support you to ensure a smooth transition. It is important to complete the migration in time, as older systems such as SFTP and outdated APIs will no longer be supported after the phase-out. This means you will no longer have access to data exchange via these methods.
