How does insured mail service work?

Check if your letter is eligible for insured mail:
- Minimum size: 14 x 9 cm
- Maximum size: 38 x 26,5 x 3,2 cm
- Maximum weight: 2 kg
- The value of the content you want to send exceeds €50.
Is the content worth less? Then choose registered mail. Your letter will be insured up to €50.

Drop off your letter at a PostNL point
Indicate for which amount you want to insure your letter. Note: you have to be able to prove the value of the content, for example with an invoice.
After you have paid, we will put the shipping label on your letter. You will receive a shipping receipt. Make sure you save this!

View signature for delivery
Track your insured letter en route with track & trace. Once we have delivered your letter to the recipient, you will also find a copy of the signature for delivery in your track & trace overview.
What does insured shipping cost?
Sending an insured letter costs €14.90.
