What does PostNL do?

We now handle the import customs clearance for your shipments to the United States and Puerto Rico. We submit the declaration and advance the import duties for you. These costs, including an administration fee, will be added to your PostNL invoice afterwards. 

Important
Make sure you calculate the import duties in advance during your webshop checkout and add them to your customer’s final total. Just as you include shipping costs in the online shopping cart.

Due to new import regulations in the United States and Puerto Rico, several things have changed. 

Customers in your webshop who live in the US or Puerto Rico now have to pay more when ordering products that are manufactured outside the US. Import duties must now be paid on these items. 

Make sure you know how much import duty applies to your products. That way, you can pass these costs directly on to your customers and avoid paying them yourself. You can easily calculate the additional costs using Mijn PostNL Zakelijk.
