Surcharge for parcels sent around the holidays

As of 2020 a surcharge applies for every parcel during our "peak season". From 2022 this also applies to mailbox parcels (Brievenbuspakjes+). During this time period (from November 20 to December 31, 2022) almost twice as many parcels are sent as usual. In order to deliver them all on time, we deploy extra employees and resources. For example, we rent extra locations and trucks, our sorting centres remain open longer, and we make extra journeys, at night as well as during the day. All these measures cost additional funds, hence this surcharge.

To whom does this surcharge apply?

The surcharge applies to every business customer who sends parcels during our peak season from November 20 to December 31, 2022.

Does the surcharge also apply to international parcels and returns?

The surcharge applies to all parcels that are delivered through our network during the specified period, including parcels and returns to and from abroad. The surcharge does not apply to (letterbox) packets sent abroad.
