Step by step towards less carbon
Step by step, we’re working towards net zero carbon emissions, with our sustainable targets and steps validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). By signing the SBTi’s “Business Ambition for 1.5°C”, we have committed to net zero carbon emissions worldwide by 2050, thus playing our part in limiting global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius in keeping with the Paris Climate Agreement.

Gold Standard
Clear carbon reduction strategy
We have a long-term carbon reduction strategy in place, broken down into concrete steps for the short term and underpinned by four key pillars:
Efficient network
Smarter planning should help us travel fewer kilometres and consume less fuel.
Clean kilometres
Sustainable buildings and facilities
Sustainable products and services
Reduce
The world is facing enormous climate and environmental challenges. We’re doing everything we can to reduce our carbon emissions.
Offset
No more carbon emissions by 2050
About Gold Standard Climate+ projects
We choose to offset any remaining carbon emissions by investing in Gold Standard projects that aim to reduce or prevent emissions, or capture carbon from the atmosphere. In fact, we prefer to invest in Gold Standard Climate+ projects, which in addition to carbon emissions reduction put great emphasis on the sustainable development of the local population. These projects add value for local communities by improving living conditions, for instance by providing more work, clean water or education. Project examples include planting new forests, investing in wind farms and generating solar energy.
