We’re proud of our history of 222 years, and what we stand for. Our ambition is to be the favourite deliverer, and our purpose is to deliver special moments to everyone. This purpose underpins the principles that guide our behaviour and ensure that everyone within PostNL moves in the same direction and focuses on the same targets. Our ambition and purpose give guidance on what we do, the customer experience we aim for and how we work together.
The right people in the right place: that’s vital for the future of our company, from technical operators who manage sorting machines to our postmen and women who come right to your door, and from IT specialists to senior managers mapping our long-term strategy. That’s why we always encourage people to work on their own employability, developing their skills professionally and personally. All our people have access to PostNL Academy, an internal digital portal offering numerous training sessions and courses, from which they can pick the ones that are just right for them.
Room for talent
A key element of our HR policy is to recognise talent and help nurture it. As part of their performance cycle, employees regularly discuss their personal and professional development with their managers, while our talent programmes specifically seek to accelerate personal and leadership development and contribute to internal progression to senior management levels.
Diversity on the work floor
We feel that our workforce and management should reflect the diversity within society, and we want to offer a place where employees feel comfortable, wherever they work. This is a major condition for a healthy, sustainable work environment, and it’s why we’ve committed to improving diversity throughout the company, by signing the Diversity Charter. We aim to achieve this with multiple initiatives, such as workshops on cultural awareness, the use of a diversity index (with an overall score of 64%), our internal Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) and the LHBTIQ+ network PostNL Pride. We also continue to create work experience opportunities for some 1600 people with limited access to the labour market.
PostNL is a diverse company. Everyone is equal here, regardless of origin, skin colour, gender or orientation. To ensure that our LGTBQI colleagues (lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, queer, intersex) feel at home, PostNL supports participation in the LGBTQI + network PostNL Pride. We’ve also been developing activities around Coming Out Day for years. Research shows that 89% of our international LGTBQI colleagues feel accepted at PostNL.
